Type Artwork - Week 9

Illustrator

This was a creative project aimed at highlighting the skills and techniques that we've learned to date in Illustrator. We were tasked with digitally reproducing 5 letterforms. The only prompts we were given were, use the Pen tool and use grid in order to create consistency in the layout. With this exercise, the pathfinder tool was used very frequently to make interesting shapes and forms.

I tried to use as many tools as possible from classes to date and also to vary each letter in order to demonstrate the scope of my learning.  Also hoping to create an impactful design.

The next step was to choose 1 of these letterforms and to produce a storyboard for a GIF.  This GIF is meant to illustrate the letterform's development showing all the elements coming together in a final composition.

5 Storyboard images (300 x 300 px)

For the GIF.  I saved all 5 letterforms as separate slides.  File>Scripts>Load files into stack, select the files I wanted in the GIF. Once that was done I found Timelines panel, clicking on that twice to open up the options. Selecting create frames from layers, I then set the time to 0.2secs and pressed play for a preview.

Happy with all of that, I chose File>Export As>Save for Web Legacy and chose 128 Dithered, GIF file to save.
